Over the last 20+ years, I had a fantastic career as a Technology Executive, spanning three major film studios. I led global teams as we deployed complex computer software worldwide. I built high-performing teams and organizations and cultivated leaders who led leaders and who moved on to accomplish their life’s purpose.
And while technology was my trade, my passion has always been the people. I helped technology leaders become visionaries, grow without fear, and lead with courage and compassion. Now, I help my private clients embrace a growth mindset, overcome past limitations, dream big, be bold, transform, and reinvent their personal and professional lives.

Three years after I created The Cherny Group and began helping clients revive their lives, I reinvented my own. Once again. I published a memoir, Last Train to Freedom. A true story of my family’s journey from Soviet Ukraine, Kiev (now Kyiv), to the United States of America in the pursuit of freedom from anti-Semitism and oppression.
The statistics to accomplish my author ambition were stacked against me:
Of 1,000 people who want to write a book, only one person does
90% of books written by first-time authors never get published
The number of authors who wrote in a language other than their mother tongue is under 200. Sholem Aleichem is one of them, for goodness’ sake!
Why had these statistics not discouraged me from following through on my decision to write and publish a book? Simple. I never looked them up until right now.
It turned out I wanted to tell my story more than look for reasons why it would be impossible.
